From sketch to finish – how a wedding cake comes alive

When we are contacted about wedding cakes the first thing we usually ask is if the couple has a design idea in mind.

We can incorporate colours or decor used on your invitation or flowers used to decorate the room or flowers used in your bouquet.

The possibilities are endless and it is always great to see how ideas come together and form something really amazing at the end.

The cake below was created based on the only information we had and that was that the bride wanted orchids on her wedding cake.

With gold being so elegant and also so in trend right now it seems like a good match. Also I thought it would look nice to bring in the pink element since there is also a touch of pink in the orchids already.

And behold this beautifully elegant pink and gold orchid cake was created.

Branded cupcakes and corporate events

We are all busy working during the day and it feels nice to take a little break every now and then.

Even if it’s a coffee break accompanied by a delicious, freshly baked cupcake or cake.

Cupcakes with fresh fruits

We are incredibly lucky to be able to work with some of Ireland’s largest venues and companies. Plus, we provide a selection of our sweet treats for their events regularly.

We’ve been working with the Convention Centre in Dublin, delivered cupcakes to Croke Park and Aviva Stadium. We are regularly making cupcakes for business meetings at Google and Huawei just to mention a few. We’ve been honoured to make an oversized cake for the celebration of Miss Saigon’s 100th performance at the Board Gais Theatre.

Our latest project is this shipping container cake we created for Accenture’s celebration party. We’ve received very specific instructions regarding design which included a shipping container, balloons and the red poles in Dublin Grand Canal Square.

Favourite items for order

Branded Cupcakes are the most popular items ordered for company get togethers. However, we want to make sure there’s something sweet for everyone.

This is why we are offering a selection of treats such as cake pops, cake balls, macarons, cookies, celebration cakes, biscuit cake squares, meringue kisses which are all available with edible and non edible branding of course.

Why not give a special and sweet touch to your next event with branded cupcakes?

Our cake studio – Behind the scenes

We have been in business for more than six years now. I personally was always very tight-lipped about our background in social media. Only customers who meet us in person know our story.

I thought it might be nice to share a little bit about how Victoria’s Heavenly Cupcakes was born and became Miller Cake Studio. Especially now when we start our new adventures in the cake business (more on this in the coming months, I promise).

How we started

We started trading as a little market stall back in 2011. Initially, we only planned to make a few appearances at Christmas markets around Dublin and quickly picked a name to match the idea.

Victoria’s Heavenly Cupcakes was born and what started as a cupcake business very quickly turned into a cake, cupcake and sweet treat studio. We are working from our little cake studio in our home in Dunboyne and delivering our cakes all across Dublin, Meath, and Kildare.

Our logo history

We’ve been lucky enough to be asked to join the Nolan’s Supermarket team in 2012 and we supplied cupcakes for them for almost two years.

Our business has grown so much that we decided to stop supplying and doing markets as simply we had no capacity to produce that many cakes per week.

Also, wedding cakes and celebration cakes started to take over our interest. So we wanted to focus on those a little bit more. Apart from cakes we mainly work with corporate clients.

During the week our studio is a busy cake factory where we are making hundreds of cupcakes and cake pops for corporate events. During the weekend we assemble and decorate intricate cakes and delicious sweet treats.

Hope you have enjoyed a bit of our journey until here. We will be sharing more behind the scenes in the future.

And if planning a wedding or celebration drop us an email to [email protected] We will be glad to create a stunning cake or sweet table for you!

See you soon!
